Five Iron Frenzy
Cheeses of Nazareth

5 Minute Walk
2003

Five Iron Frenzy has long been known as a band with a sense of humor. Cheeses is nothing but that sense of humor. It's a collection of b-sides, rarities, and Five Iron's signature goofiness, though it's more plain goofiness than anything.

The covers says "Cheeses...", but the liner notes and actual CD give the real album title, Cheeses of Nazareth, a concession probably made for the distributor.

This is the album for the true Five Iron fan, as only a dedicated fan could enjoy these 33 tracks. Among them, you'll find one live track, three early rough demos, and five songs from 7 inches or the vault. The rest is a mishmash of goofiness, including the memorable "Mayonnaise Taco Monday" and "Pootermobile."

It's not hilarious and the unreleased songs were unreleased for a reason. Though "Marty" and "Kamikaze" are worth a listen, and you can't call yourself a Five Iron fan until you've memorized "Pootermobile," this isn't exactly one for the archives. (Kevin H.)
